Ingredients

  • Salmon fillet - 300 grams
  • Lemongrass - 1 stalk, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili - 1, sliced (optional)
  • Fresh coriander - a handful, for garnish
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Prepare the salmon fillet by patting it dry and seasoning with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the fish sauce, lime juice, lemongrass, ginger, and garlic to create a marinade.
  3. Place the salmon on a heatproof plate and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  4. If using, sprinkle the sliced red chili on top of the salmon for an extra kick.
  5. Set up a steamer and bring water to a boil. Place the plate with salmon in the steamer, cover, and steam for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Once done, remove the salmon from the steamer and garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
