- White fish fillets (such as tilapia or cod) - 300 grams
- Almond flour - 50 grams
- Coconut flour - 30 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Oil for frying - 200 ml (preferably coconut or avocado oil)
Steps
- Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and cut them into serving-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, mix almond flour, coconut flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the egg and add lemon juice to it.
- Dip each piece of fish into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat it in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Carefully add the coated fish pieces to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, transfer the fish to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
