Ingredients

  • Baguette - 2 pieces
  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Daikon radish - 100 grams, julienned
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Sriracha sauce - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Marinate the tofu slices in this mixture for at least 10 minutes.
  3. While the tofu is marinating, prepare the pickled vegetables by mixing the julienned carrot and daikon radish with a pinch of salt and letting them sit for 10 minutes.
  4. After marinating, grill the tofu slices on a pan over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Slice the baguettes open lengthwise without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the fillings.
  6. Spread a thin layer of sriracha on the inside of the baguette, then layer in the grilled tofu, pickled vegetables, cucumber slices, and fresh cilantro.
  7. Close the baguette and serve immediately, or wrap in foil for a portable lunch.
