  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon (low-sodium)
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with fish sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the marinated beef to the pan and cook for about 3-5 minutes until browned and cooked through, stirring frequently.
  4. Add the sliced yellow onion to the pan and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the onions are tender.
  5. Remove the pan from heat, and stir in the chopped green onions.
