Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 150 grams
- Ripe mango - 1 medium, peeled and sliced
- Coconut milk - 100 ml
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a bamboo or metal steamer for about 30 minutes until it's cooked and translucent.
- In a small saucepan, heat the coconut milk over low heat, adding the sugar and salt until dissolved, then remove from heat.
- Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl and pour the sweetened coconut milk over it, stirring gently to combine. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- On a clean surface, take a small portion of the sticky rice and flatten it into a circle about 1/2 cm thick.
- Place a few slices of ripe mango in the center of the rice circle, then fold the edges over the mango to create a pouch. Repeat with the remaining rice and mango.
- Once all pouches are formed, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top for garnish and serve immediately or chill for a fresher taste.
