Ingredients

  • Warm water - 120 ml
  • Instant yeast - 5 grams
  • Olive oil - 15 ml
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 5 grams
  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Vegan mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1 small, sliced
  • Mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
  • Fresh basil - a handful, chopped
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Chili flakes - optional, to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, instant yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead the mixture for about 5-7 minutes until a smooth dough forms. Cover with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  5. Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a round pizza shape, about 0.5 cm thick.
  6. Transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border around the edge.
  8. Sprinkle the vegan mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the garlic, bell pepper, red onion, and mushrooms.
  9. Season with black pepper and chili flakes if using.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
  11. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil before slicing and serving.
