Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • water - 100 milliliters
  • sugar - 30 grams
  • coconut oil - 50 grams
  • mung bean paste - 100 grams
  • durian flesh - 50 grams
  • salt - 1 gram
  • sesame seeds - 10 grams
  • egg (for egg wash) - 1

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt together.
  2. Melt the coconut oil and add it to the flour mixture, then gradually add water while kneading until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. While the dough is resting, prepare the filling by mixing the mung bean paste and durian flesh until well combined.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and roll each part into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
  6. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough circle and fold the edges over to seal, shaping them into small round pastries.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  8. Arrange the pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, and brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of each pastry.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
