- Honey - 15 grams
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - 10 ml
- Baguette - 2 pieces
- Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Fresh cilantro - a handful
- Sliced jalapeños - to taste
- Mayonnaise - 30 grams
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, five-spice powder, minced garlic, and vegetable oil to create a marinade.
- Cut the pork tenderloin into thin strips and marinate in the mixture for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator).
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Place the marinated pork on a baking tray and roast in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until fully cooked and slightly caramelized, turning halfway through.
- While the pork is roasting, prepare the baguettes by slicing them open lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- Spread mayonnaise inside each baguette, then layer with cucumber slices, julienned carrots, and fresh cilantro.
- Once the pork is done, slice it thinly and layer it inside the filled baguettes.
- Top with sliced jalapeños if desired, close the baguettes, and serve immediately.
