- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Shallots - 2, finely chopped
- Fish sauce - 1 tbsp
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Cornstarch - 1 tbsp
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tbsp, chopped
- Burger buns - 2, preferably whole wheat
- Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp
- Sriracha sauce - 1 tbsp
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Pickled carrots - 50g (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves - a handful
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the pork, minced garlic, chopped shallots, fish sauce, sugar, black pepper, cornstarch, and chopped cilantro. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly in another skillet or oven.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun and drizzle with Sriracha sauce.
- Place the cooked pork patties on the mayo-Sriracha base, then layer with cucumber slices, pickled carrots, and fresh mint leaves.
