Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • French baguette - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 1/2, julienned
  • Daikon radish - 1/4, julienned
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Chili sauce - to taste
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and black pepper. Add the sliced beef and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  3. While the beef is cooking, prepare the baguettes by slicing them open lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  4. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise inside each baguette and add a layer of cooked beef.
  5. Top the beef with cucumber slices, julienned carrot, daikon radish, and chopped cilantro.
  6. Drizzle with chili sauce to taste, and close the baguette. Serve immediately.
