Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Hoisin sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Baguette - 2 small
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Radish - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Fresh mint - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Sriracha (optional) - to taste
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into thick slices.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and minced garlic. Marinate the tofu slices in this mixture for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated tofu for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy.
- While the tofu is cooking, prepare the vegetables: slice the cucumber, julienne the carrot, and slice the radish.
- Once the tofu is done, cut the baguettes in half lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- Spread a little hoisin sauce inside each baguette, then layer in the crispy tofu, cucumber, carrot, radish, cilantro, and mint.
- Drizzle lime juice over the fillings and add Sriracha if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Bánh Mì Tàu Hủ!
