- Fish sauce - 15 ml
- Brown sugar - 15 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Shallot - 1, finely chopped
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 15 ml
- Baguette - 2 pieces
- Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 50 grams, julienned
- Daikon radish - 50 grams, julienned
- Fresh cilantro - 10 grams
- Jalapeño - 1, sliced (optional)
- Mayonnaise - 30 grams
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, chopped shallot, black pepper, and lemon juice to create a marinade.
- Cut the pork shoulder into thin strips and marinate in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
- While the pork is marinating, prepare the vegetables: julienne the carrot and daikon, and slice the cucumber and jalapeño.
- Heat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat and grill the marinated pork strips for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.
- While the pork is cooking, warm the baguettes in the oven or on the grill until crispy.
- Spread mayonnaise on the inside of each baguette, then layer in the grilled pork, followed by cucumber, carrot, daikon, cilantro, and jalapeño slices.
- Close the baguettes and serve immediately, cut in half if desired.
