Ingredients

  • Pork mince - 250 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Shallots - 2, finely chopped
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh coriander - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Carrot - 1/2, julienned
  • Pickled daikon - 50 grams
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Sriracha sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the pork mince, minced garlic, chopped shallots, fish sauce, soy sauce, black pepper, sugar, chopped coriander, and chili flakes. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to help them firm up.
  3. Heat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until thoroughly cooked and browned.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings. Slice the cucumber, julienne the carrot, and set aside the pickled daikon.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Sriracha sauce to create a spicy mayo.
  6. Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
  7. Assemble the burgers by spreading the spicy mayo on the bottom half of the bun. Place the cooked pork patty on top, followed by the cucumber slices, julienned carrot, and pickled daikon. Top with the other half of the bun.
