Ingredients
- Baguette - 1 small (about 100g)
- Firm tofu - 150g
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Carrot - 50g, julienned
- Cucumber - 50g, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro - 10g, chopped
- Fresh mint - 10g, chopped
- Chili sauce - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes, then cut it into slices.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Marinate the tofu slices in this mixture for 10 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the marinated tofu and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- While the tofu is cooking, prepare the vegetables by julienning the carrot and slicing the cucumber.
- Once the tofu is cooked, slice the baguette open lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- Layer the grilled tofu, carrot, cucumber, cilantro, and mint inside the baguette.
- Drizzle chili sauce over the filling for an extra kick, then close the baguette.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Bánh Mì Sòi warm.
