Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Baguette - 2 small
  • Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Pickled carrots - 50 grams
  • Cilantro - a handful
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Sriracha - 1 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken breast to the marinade, ensuring it's well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
  5. Slice the baguettes in half lengthwise. Spread mayonnaise on the inside of each baguette.
  6. Layer the sliced chicken, cucumber, pickled carrots, and cilantro into each baguette.
  7. Drizzle with Sriracha if desired, then close the baguette and serve immediately.
