Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ground black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Radish - 1 small, julienned
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Vegan mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Baguette - 2 small
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, minced garlic, and black pepper to create a marinade. Add the tofu slices and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill pan over medium heat and add vegetable oil.
- Grill the marinated tofu slices for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden and slightly crispy.
- While the tofu is grilling, prepare the vegetables by slicing the cucumber and julienning the carrot and radish.
- Once the tofu is done, cut the baguettes in half lengthwise and spread vegan mayonnaise on each side.
- Layer the grilled tofu, cucumber, carrot, radish, and cilantro inside the baguette.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Bánh Mì Chay Nướng!
