Ingredients
- Baguette - 2 pieces
- Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Shallots (finely chopped) - 1 medium
- Egg - 1 large
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Cucumber (sliced) - 1/2 medium
- Carrot (julienned) - 1 small
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Chili sauce - to taste
- Lettuce leaves - 4 pieces
Steps
- In a food processor, combine the shrimp, garlic, shallots, egg, fish sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and cilantro. Pulse until a smooth mixture forms.
- Shape the shrimp mixture into small patties, about 5 cm in diameter.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the shrimp patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the baguettes by cutting them open lengthwise without slicing all the way through.
- Spread mayonnaise on the inside of each baguette, then layer with lettuce, cucumber slices, and carrot.
- Once the shrimp patties are cooked, place them inside the baguette on top of the vegetables.
- Drizzle chili sauce over the shrimp patties as desired, then close the baguette and serve immediately.
