Ingredients
- White fish fillets (such as tilapia or cod) - 200 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baguette - 2 pieces
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 1/2, julienned
- Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Fresh mint - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Sriracha sauce - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine minced garlic, lime juice, fish sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, and red chili flakes to create a marinade.
- Add the fish fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated fish for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- While the fish is cooking, prepare the baguettes by slicing them open lengthwise but not all the way through.
- Spread mayonnaise inside each baguette and add a layer of cucumber slices, followed by julienned carrots.
- Once the fish is done, place a fillet in each baguette on top of the vegetables.
- Top with fresh cilantro and mint, and drizzle with Sriracha sauce if desired.
- Serve immediately while the fish is warm and the baguettes are crispy.
