- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 1 small, julienned
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Sriracha sauce - 1 tablespoon (optional for spice)
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and black pepper to create a marinade for the chicken.
- Slice the Halal chicken breast into thin strips and marinate for 15 minutes.
- While the chicken is marinating, prepare the vegetables: slice the cucumber, julienne the carrot, and chop the cilantro.
- Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the marinated chicken strips for about 5-7 minutes, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- While the chicken is cooking, slice the baguette lengthwise without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket.
- Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the baguette and add the cooked chicken strips.
- Layer the sliced cucumber, julienned carrot, and chopped cilantro on top of the chicken.
- If desired, drizzle Sriracha sauce over the fillings for added spice.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
