Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Baguette - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
  • Carrot - 1 small, julienned
  • Daikon radish - 50 grams, julienned
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Fresh mint leaves - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Chili slices - to taste
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and black pepper. Add the beef sirloin, ensuring it is well coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for about 4-5 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and slice thinly.
  3. While the beef is cooking, prepare the baguettes by slicing them open lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  4. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the baguette. Layer the sliced beef, cucumber, carrot, daikon radish, cilantro, mint, and chili slices inside the baguette.
  5. Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the sandwich before eating.
