- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Cooking oil - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped fresh herbs (mint, cilantro) - 30 grams
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Bean sprouts - 50 grams
- Chili sauce - for serving
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the rice flour, tapioca starch, and water until smooth to make the pancake batter.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking oil.
- Pour a small amount of the batter into the skillet, tilting to spread it thinly. Cook for about 2 minutes or until the edges lift, then remove it from the skillet.
- In another pan, heat cooking oil over medium heat and sauté the shallots and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the ground pork, fish sauce, and black pepper, cooking until the pork is browned and cooked through.
- Take a pancake, place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center, and fold it over. Repeat with the remaining pancakes and filling.
- Serve the bánh cuốn on a plate, topped with fresh herbs, cucumber slices, and bean sprouts. Drizzle with chili sauce before enjoying.
