  • Water - 300 ml
  • Ground pork - 200 grams
  • Shallots - 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped fresh herbs (mint, cilantro) - 30 grams
  • Cucumber - 1, sliced
  • Bean sprouts - 50 grams
  • Chili sauce - for serving

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the rice flour, tapioca starch, and water until smooth to make the pancake batter.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking oil.
  3. Pour a small amount of the batter into the skillet, tilting to spread it thinly. Cook for about 2 minutes or until the edges lift, then remove it from the skillet.
  4. In another pan, heat cooking oil over medium heat and sauté the shallots and garlic until fragrant.
  5. Add the ground pork, fish sauce, and black pepper, cooking until the pork is browned and cooked through.
  6. Take a pancake, place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center, and fold it over. Repeat with the remaining pancakes and filling.
  7. Serve the bánh cuốn on a plate, topped with fresh herbs, cucumber slices, and bean sprouts. Drizzle with chili sauce before enjoying.
