- Rice flour - 100 grams
- Water - 500 ml
- Pork belly - 150 grams, diced
- Chicken breast - 100 grams, diced
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Shallots - 2, minced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Chili pepper - 1, sliced (optional)
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - a handful, chopped
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a saucepan, mix rice flour with 500 ml of water and stir until smooth. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- In a separate pan, sauté minced shallots and garlic until fragrant, then add diced pork belly and cook until browned.
- Add diced chicken breast to the pan with pork and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the meat mixture with fish sauce, black pepper, and salt to taste. Cook for another 3 minutes.
- Prepare a steamer with boiling water. Stir the rice flour mixture again and pour it into a lightly greased steaming dish.
- Cover and steam for about 15-20 minutes until the cake is set and firm.
- Once the rice cake is ready, cut it into squares and serve in bowls topped with the pork and chicken mixture.
- Garnish with chopped green onions, cilantro, and sliced chili pepper if desired.
