- Sugar - 30 grams
- Coconut milk - 50 milliliters
- Salt - a pinch
- Sesame seeds (toasted) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse mung beans under cold water and soak them for at least 2 hours, then drain.
- Steam the soaked mung beans for about 20 minutes until tender, then mash them in a bowl.
- In the mashed mung beans, mix in 20 grams of sugar and a pinch of salt, and set aside to cool.
- In a separate bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, water, and remaining sugar to form a smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls (about 30 grams each), then flatten them into discs.
- Place a spoonful of the mung bean filling in the center of each disc and fold the edges over to seal, rolling gently to form a ball.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and steam the filled balls for about 15-20 minutes until they become translucent.
- Remove from the steamer and let cool slightly, then drizzle with coconut milk and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
