Ingredients
- Glutinous rice flour - 150 grams
- Water - 120 ml
- Mung beans (split) - 100 grams
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Coconut milk - 30 ml
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds (toasted) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the mung beans under cold water and soak them in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the mung beans and steam them for about 20 minutes until they are soft.
- In a bowl, mash the steamed mung beans and mix in the sugar and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Divide the mung bean mixture into 8 equal portions and roll them into balls. Set aside.
- In another bowl, mix the glutinous rice flour and water until a smooth dough forms. Adjust the water if necessary.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and flatten each piece into a circle in your palm.
- Place a mung bean ball in the center of each dough circle and carefully wrap the dough around it, sealing it completely.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and gently drop the filled dumplings into the boiling water.
- Cook until they float to the surface, about 5–7 minutes, then let them boil for an additional 2 minutes.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate.
- Drizzle with coconut milk and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top before serving.
