Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour - 150 grams
  • Water - 200 milliliters
  • Coconut milk - 100 milliliters
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
  • Banana (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Vegetable oil - for greasing

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, sugar, salt, coconut milk, and water. Mix until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  2. Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes to allow the flour to hydrate.
  3. Preheat a non-stick grill or a frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
  4. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the grill, making a round shape about 1 cm thick. Place a few slices of banana on top of the batter.
  5. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then carefully flip the cake over and cook for another 5-7 minutes until both sides are golden and the cake is cooked through.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining batter and banana slices.
  7. Once all cakes are cooked, sprinkle the top with sesame seeds before serving.
