Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour - 100 grams
  • Warm water - 80 ml
  • Coconut milk - 50 ml
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Mung bean paste - 50 grams
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Coconut flakes - 2 tablespoons (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, warm water, coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into small balls, about 20 grams each.
  3. Flatten each ball into a small disc and place a teaspoon of mung bean paste in the center. Fold the edges over and pinch to seal.
  4. Bring water to a boil in a steamer. Place the filled dumplings on a steaming tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Steam the dumplings for about 15 minutes or until they are translucent and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the steamer and let cool slightly. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds and coconut flakes before serving.
