- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Brown erythritol sweetener - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large leaves
- Fresh cilantro - 20 grams
- Fresh mint - 20 grams
- Cucumber, sliced - 50 grams
- Sliced jalapeños (optional) - to taste
- Peanuts, crushed (optional) - 15 grams
Steps
- In a bowl, combine minced pork, garlic, shallots, fish sauce, soy sauce, lemon juice, erythritol, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Form the marinated pork mixture into two patties.
- Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
- While the patties are cooking, prepare your serving plate with large lettuce leaves, sliced cucumber, cilantro, mint, and jalapeños.
- Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing a patty on a lettuce leaf, topping with cucumber, cilantro, mint, and jalapeños. Sprinkle crushed peanuts on top if desired.
- Serve immediately with extra lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the burger.
