- Rice vermicelli noodles - 150 grams
- Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
- Lime juice - 30 milliliters
- Fish sauce - 15 milliliters
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Thai bird's eye chili (sliced) - 1
- Cilantro (chopped) - 20 grams
- Mint leaves (chopped) - 20 grams
- Cucumber (thinly sliced) - 100 grams
- Carrot (julienned) - 50 grams
- Roasted peanuts (crushed) - 30 grams
- Water - 1 liter
Steps
- Cook the rice vermicelli noodles in boiling water for about 4-5 minutes until tender, then drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and sliced chili to make the dipping sauce. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the shrimp for about 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
- To assemble, place a portion of the noodles in a bowl. Top with cooked shrimp, sliced cucumber, and julienned carrot.
- Drizzle the dipping sauce over the top and garnish with chopped cilantro, mint leaves, and crushed peanuts.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the fresh flavors of Bún Tôm Chua!
