  • Rice vermicelli noodles - 150 grams
  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
  • Lime juice - 30 milliliters
  • Fish sauce - 15 milliliters
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Thai bird's eye chili (sliced) - 1
  • Cilantro (chopped) - 20 grams
  • Mint leaves (chopped) - 20 grams
  • Cucumber (thinly sliced) - 100 grams
  • Carrot (julienned) - 50 grams
  • Roasted peanuts (crushed) - 30 grams
  • Water - 1 liter

Steps

  1. Cook the rice vermicelli noodles in boiling water for about 4-5 minutes until tender, then drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and sliced chili to make the dipping sauce. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the shrimp for about 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  4. To assemble, place a portion of the noodles in a bowl. Top with cooked shrimp, sliced cucumber, and julienned carrot.
  5. Drizzle the dipping sauce over the top and garnish with chopped cilantro, mint leaves, and crushed peanuts.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy the fresh flavors of Bún Tôm Chua!
