  • Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
  • Shallots (minced) - 2 medium
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Fish sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon

  • Bamboo skewers (soaked in water) - 4 pieces

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine minced garlic, shallots, sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, black pepper, sesame oil, and chili powder to create the marinade.
  2. Slice the beef into thin strips and add it to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated beef strips onto the soaked bamboo skewers, reserving any excess marinade.

  7. Grill the beef skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness.
  8. Grill the shrimp skewers for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque.
  9. Arrange the grilled beef and shrimp on a plate, serve with lettuce leaves, cucumber slices, and shredded carrots, allowing diners to wrap their skewers in the lettuce.
