Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams
  • Lemongrass - 2 stalks, finely minced
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Bird's eye chili - 1, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar substitute (like erythritol) - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced lemongrass, garlic, chopped chili, fish sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar substitute, black pepper, and olive oil to create the marinade.
  2. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef strips in a single layer, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly charred.
  4. Remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  5. Serve the grilled beef garnished with fresh cilantro, alongside a side of low-carb vegetables if desired.
