Ingredients

  • Beef (ground) - 300g
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Shallots (finely chopped) - 1 medium
  • Fish sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Brown sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper - 1 tsp
  • Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tbsp
  • Gluten-free burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Lettuce leaves - 2 large
  • Cucumber (sliced) - 1 small
  • Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Mayonnaise (gluten-free) - 2 tbsp
  • Sriracha sauce - to taste

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, chopped shallots, fish sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, and chopped cilantro. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Form the marinated beef mixture into two patties.
  3. Grill the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the gluten-free buns by toasting them lightly on the grill or skillet for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, placing a lettuce leaf, grilled beef patty, cucumber slices, and tomato slices on top. Drizzle with Sriracha sauce to taste.
  6. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with a side of fresh herbs or pickled vegetables if desired.
