- Brown sugar - 1 tbsp
- Black pepper - 1 tsp
- Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tbsp
- Gluten-free burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce leaves - 2 large
- Cucumber (sliced) - 1 small
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Mayonnaise (gluten-free) - 2 tbsp
- Sriracha sauce - to taste
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, chopped shallots, fish sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, and chopped cilantro. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Form the marinated beef mixture into two patties.
- Grill the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the gluten-free buns by toasting them lightly on the grill or skillet for 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, placing a lettuce leaf, grilled beef patty, cucumber slices, and tomato slices on top. Drizzle with Sriracha sauce to taste.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with a side of fresh herbs or pickled vegetables if desired.
