Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams
  • Beer (lager) - 100 ml
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemongrass (finely chopped) - 1 stalk
  • Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for grilling
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish
  • Lime wedges - for serving

Steps

  1. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips, about 1 cm thick.
  2. In a bowl, combine beer, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, sesame oil, chopped lemongrass, and chili flakes to create the marinade.
  3. Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight for best flavor.
  4. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease with vegetable oil.
  5. Remove the beef from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the leftover marinade.
  6. Grill the beef strips for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until charred and cooked to your desired doneness.
  7. Once cooked, remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  8. Serve the grilled beef garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges on the side.
