Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Shallots - 2, finely chopped
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar substitute (erythritol) - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh cilantro - 20 grams, chopped
  • Fresh mint - 20 grams, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
  • Green onions - 2, chopped

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped shallots, fish sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar substitute, black pepper, lime juice, and olive oil to create the marinade.
  2. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add it to the marinade. Mix well to ensure the beef is fully coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the beef is marinating, prepare the fresh herbs, lettuce leaves, cucumber, and green onions. Set aside.
  4. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef strips in a single layer and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. Remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
  6. To serve, place a bed of lettuce on each plate, top with grilled beef, and garnish with fresh cilantro, mint, julienned cucumber, and chopped green onions.
