  • Bean sprouts - 100 grams
  • Chili pepper, sliced (optional) - 1 small
  • Peanuts, crushed - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 500 milliliters

Steps

  1. In a pot, bring water to a boil and cook the rice vermicelli noodles according to package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes, until tender. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking.
  2. In a bowl, combine the shrimp paste, fish sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, and sugar. Mix well to create the sauce.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove from heat.
  4. In serving bowls, place a portion of the vermicelli noodles at the bottom. Top with cooked shrimp, cucumber, shredded carrot, bean sprouts, and fresh herbs (cilantro and mint).
