- Rice vermicelli - 150 grams
- Squid, cleaned and sliced - 200 grams
- Bell pepper, sliced - 1 medium
- Carrot, julienned - 1 medium
- Green onion, chopped - 2 stalks
- Garlic, minced - 3 cloves
- Soy sauce (Halal) - 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce (Halal) - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Lime wedges - for serving
Steps
- Soak the rice vermicelli in warm water for about 10 minutes, or until softened. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced squid to the skillet and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they turn opaque.
- Add the sliced bell pepper and julienned carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, and sprinkle with black pepper. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Add the cooked rice vermicelli and toss everything together for another 2 minutes until heated through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped green onions and cilantro.
- Serve the Bún Mực Xào hot with lime wedges on the side.
