Ingredients

  • Vermicelli noodles - 150 grams
  • Halal beef (sirloin or flank) - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Shallots - 1 medium, sliced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce (Halal) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Fresh mint - 20 grams, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 20 grams, chopped
  • Peanuts - 30 grams, crushed
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 leaves, torn

Steps

  1. Cook the vermicelli noodles according to package instructions, then rinse under cold water and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and lime juice to create the dressing.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sliced shallots, sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced beef to the pan and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. In a large serving bowl, layer the cooked vermicelli noodles, then top with the sautéed beef.
  6. Arrange the julienned cucumber, carrot, and torn lettuce leaves on top of the beef.
  7. Drizzle the dressing over the top and sprinkle with chopped mint, cilantro, and crushed peanuts.
