- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Shallots (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Mint leaves - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Cucumber (thinly sliced) - 1/2 medium
- Carrot (shredded) - 1/2 medium
- Sweet potatoes (for buns) - 2 medium
- Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into 1 cm thick rounds, then coat them with coconut oil and place them on a baking tray.
- Bake the sweet potato rounds for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are tender and slightly crispy.
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, chopped shallots, fish sauce, black pepper, cilantro, and mint. Mix until well combined.
- Form the beef mixture into two equal patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a beef patty on a sweet potato round, topping it with lettuce, cucumber, and shredded carrot, then finish with another sweet potato round on top.
