  • Ground beef - 200 grams
  • Carrot - 1 medium, grated
  • Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
  • Bean sprouts - 100 grams
  • Fresh mint leaves - 10 grams
  • Fresh cilantro - 10 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Peanut butter - 2 tablespoons (for dipping)
  • Water - as needed for soaking rice paper

Steps

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with minced garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  2. Prepare the vegetables by grating the carrot, julienning the cucumber, and rinsing the bean sprouts.
  3. Soak each rice paper sheet in warm water for about 10-15 seconds until softened, then lay them flat on a clean surface.
  4. In the center of each rice paper, layer a portion of the cooked ground beef, grated carrot, cucumber, bean sprouts, mint, and cilantro.
  5. Fold the sides of the rice paper over the filling, then roll tightly from the bottom up to form a wrap. Repeat with remaining sheets and filling.
  6. To serve, mix the peanut butter with lime juice for a dipping sauce, and enjoy the Bò Bía fresh.
