Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Sugar - 5 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Olive oil - 15 ml
- Cooked chicken breast, shredded - 200 grams
- Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium
- Red bell pepper, diced - 1 medium
- Tomato, diced - 1 medium
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Feta cheese, crumbled - 50 grams (optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, then knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm area.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onions and garlic until translucent. Add red bell pepper, tomatoes, paprika, and black pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, then stir in the shredded chicken and parsley. Mix well and remove from heat.
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into 2 equal portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape on a floured surface, about 1/2 cm thick.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon the chicken mixture along the center of each oval, leaving edges for the crust.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a boat shape, pinching the ends to seal.
- If using, sprinkle crumbled feta cheese over the chicken mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
