Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 150 grams
  • Milk - 500 milliliters
  • Granulated sugar - 75 grams
  • Rice flour - 40 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 15 grams
  • Rose water or orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
  • Pistachios - for garnish

Steps

  1. Start by poaching the chicken breast in a pot of boiling water for about 15 minutes until cooked through. Remove and let it cool, then shred it finely.
  2. In a separate saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, rice flour, and cornstarch. Stir well to dissolve the dry ingredients.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and continuously stir the mixture until it thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded chicken, vanilla extract, and rose or orange blossom water.
  5. Pour the mixture into a rectangular or square dish and smooth the top with a spatula. Let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  6. Once set, cut the Tavuk Göğsü into squares or rectangles and serve chilled, garnished with crushed pistachios.
