Ingredients
- Pasta (e.g., penne or fusilli) - 200 grams
- Ground beef (kosher) - 150 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Canned diced tomatoes - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 500 ml
Steps
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste, canned diced tomatoes, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine everything evenly. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water to reach the desired consistency.
- Remove from heat, stir in the chopped parsley and lemon juice, and let it sit for 2 minutes to absorb the flavors before serving.
