Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 120 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Sucuk (Turkish sausage) - 100 grams, sliced
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Red onion - 1/2 medium, thinly sliced
  • Bell pepper - 1/2 medium, thinly sliced
  • Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast, allowing it to activate for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm place until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape on a floured surface.
  7. Transfer the rolled dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese on each oval, leaving a small border around the edges.
  8. Top the cheese with slices of sucuk, diced tomatoes, red onions, and bell peppers. Sprinkle with chili flakes if using.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the edges are golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and slice into pieces. Serve hot.
