- Red onion - 1/2 medium, thinly sliced
- Bell pepper - 1/2 medium, thinly sliced
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast, allowing it to activate for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm place until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape on a floured surface.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese on each oval, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Top the cheese with slices of sucuk, diced tomatoes, red onions, and bell peppers. Sprinkle with chili flakes if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the edges are golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and slice into pieces. Serve hot.
