Ingredients

  • Ground beef (kosher) - 300 grams
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili flakes - ½ teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped red bell pepper, onion, minced garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, mix the yogurt and lemon juice in a small bowl. Add chili flakes if desired for extra spice.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly in another skillet or on a grill until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, topping with lettuce, tomato slices, and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Spicy Adana Burger!
