Ingredients

  • lamb or beef (thinly sliced) - 300 grams
  • pita bread - 2 pieces
  • butter - 30 grams
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • tomato puree - 100 grams
  • red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • yogurt (plain) - 150 grams
  • garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • fresh parsley (chopped) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the thinly sliced lamb or beef. Season with salt and black pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. In a separate small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the tomato puree and red pepper flakes, stirring until combined. Simmer for 5 minutes to enhance the flavors.
  3. While the meat is cooking, warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or oven for a couple of minutes until soft.
  4. In a bowl, combine the yogurt with minced garlic and a pinch of salt, mixing well.
  5. To assemble, place the warm pita bread on two plates. Top each with the cooked meat, then drizzle the tomato sauce generously over the top.
  6. Finally, add a dollop of garlic yogurt and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
