- lamb or beef (thinly sliced) - 300 grams
- pita bread - 2 pieces
- butter - 30 grams
- olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- tomato puree - 100 grams
- red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
- salt - 1 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- yogurt (plain) - 150 grams
- garlic (minced) - 1 clove
- fresh parsley (chopped) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the thinly sliced lamb or beef. Season with salt and black pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- In a separate small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the tomato puree and red pepper flakes, stirring until combined. Simmer for 5 minutes to enhance the flavors.
- While the meat is cooking, warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or oven for a couple of minutes until soft.
- In a bowl, combine the yogurt with minced garlic and a pinch of salt, mixing well.
- To assemble, place the warm pita bread on two plates. Top each with the cooked meat, then drizzle the tomato sauce generously over the top.
- Finally, add a dollop of garlic yogurt and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
