- Lamb shoulder - 300 grams, cut into thin slices
- Pita bread - 2 pieces

- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato - 200 grams, diced
- Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cayenne pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Plain yogurt - 100 grams
- Fresh parsley - for garnish, chopped
Steps
- In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and the sliced lamb to the pan, cooking until the lamb is browned on all sides.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and ground cumin; cook for about 15 minutes until the sauce thickens and the lamb is tender.
- While the lamb is cooking, prepare the pita bread by lightly toasting it in a separate pan or oven until warm.
- Once the lamb mixture is ready, place the toasted pita bread on serving plates and spoon the lamb and sauce over the top.
- Dollop yogurt on top of the lamb and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
