Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Sugar - 5 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Sesame seeds - 50 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Tomato - 100 grams, diced
- Red bell pepper - 50 grams, diced
- Zucchini - 50 grams, diced
- Red onion - 50 grams, thinly sliced
- Black olives - 30 grams, sliced
- Fresh parsley - 10 grams, chopped
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is ready, add it to the flour along with olive oil.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal pieces. Roll each piece into an oval shape, about 1 cm thick.
- In a bowl, mix the diced tomato, red bell pepper, zucchini, red onion, black olives, parsley, dried oregano, and black pepper.
- Spread the vegetable mixture evenly over each rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the edges of the dough.
- Transfer the pide to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
