Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 300 grams
  • Ground beef - 200 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 30 grams, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Simit (sesame bagel) crumbs - 100 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon - 1, for serving
  • Yogurt - 100 grams, for serving

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Add the egg to the meat mixture and mix again until combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small oval-shaped meatballs, about 4-5 cm long.
  4. Spread the simit crumbs on a plate. Roll each meatball in the simit crumbs to coat evenly.
  5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs, ensuring they are not crowded in the pan.
  6. Cook the meatballs for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are browned and cooked through, about 15 minutes total.
  7. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. Serve the Simit Kebab with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a side of yogurt.
