Ingredients

  • Gluten-free all-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Ground almonds - 50 grams
  • Tapioca starch - 30 grams
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Warm water - 150 ml
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey or maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds - 50 grams

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, ground almonds, tapioca starch, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the warm water, olive oil, and honey (or maple syrup).
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each piece into a long rope, about 30 cm long.
  6. Form each rope into a ring, overlapping the ends slightly and pressing to seal.
  7. In a shallow bowl, place the sesame seeds. Dip each ring into water, then roll in the sesame seeds to coat evenly.
  8. Place the coated rings onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
