Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Bread crumbs - 50 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
  • Yogurt - 100 grams (for serving)
  • Lemon - 1, cut into wedges (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, black pepper, salt, egg, and bread crumbs. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Cook the meatballs for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned on all sides and cooked through.
  5. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  6. Serve the köfte warm with a side of yogurt and lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.
