- all-purpose flour - 250 grams
- unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
- plain yogurt - 100 grams
- baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- egg - 1 large (for dough)
- egg - 1 large (for egg wash)
- feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
- parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the melted butter, yogurt, and one egg to the flour mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix the crumbled feta cheese with chopped parsley.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each portion into a circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.
- Place the poğaças on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Beat the second egg and brush it over the top of each poğaça for a golden color.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
