Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
  • plain yogurt - 100 grams
  • baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • egg - 1 large (for dough)
  • egg - 1 large (for egg wash)
  • feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
  • parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter, yogurt, and one egg to the flour mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. In another bowl, mix the crumbled feta cheese with chopped parsley.
  6. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each portion into a circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
  7. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each circle.
  8. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.
  9. Place the poğaças on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Beat the second egg and brush it over the top of each poğaça for a golden color.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
